THUNDER AND LIGHTNING is based around six model designs. The "Thunder" part is based around the P 47 Thunderbolt (US) the Macchi 202 Flogore (It) and the Mitsubishi J2M Raiden (Jp) The Lightning comes from the P -38 Lightning (US), the Kawasinishi NiK Shiden (Jp) and the BAC Lightnbing (UK), Five prop jobs and a jet. All are designed to be driven by rubber bands. and h Lightning Jet could also be powered by a Rapier. I didn't hav those when I did the design but what I 've larned from h Migs book... HMMMM.
I've tried to be consistent with the content. One chapter provides a briefing on the aircraft themselves, another is concerned with model design information, a third with general notes n construction, a forth on specifics about these models, a fifth on flying and troubleshooting and the last chapter contains the plans. The Plans are computer drawn on 11 x 17 sheets (2 per plane) and contain sufficient notes on the drawing to tell a modeller with average skill where everything goes. The Construction chapter has plenty of photographs on putting the model together.
T & L was a great learning experience. I had to redo the hand drawn original plans in CAD (that was the pressure hat got me to learn CAD in the first place)and here was the customarry rewrites thanks to typos, etc. I later revised the AIRCRAFT chapter with more pics when they became available.
